NRI Raja Kumari, Rapper and singer-songwriter, has made history by becoming the first artist of NRI to win an American Music Award (AMA). She clinched the award in the "Favourite Soundtrack" category at the 51st AMA ceremony held in Los Angeles on May 27, 2025. The recognition was for her song "Renegade (We Never Run)," featured in Arcane: League of Legends – Season 2.

"Renegade" is a dynamic collaboration between Raja Kumari, British rapper Stefflon Don, and Dominican Brazilian artist Jarina de Marco. The track stood out in a competitive field, earning international acclaim for its powerful composition and cultural resonance.

Reflecting on her groundbreaking achievement, Raja Kumari expressed her gratitude and the significance of the moment: "Honestly, I’ve felt like an underdog in a lot of situations and all eyes on the underdog," which is a lyric from 'City Slums.' I’ve always had to believe in myself, and this win just confirms that belief and encourages me further. I’m so excited to bring this home for India."
