In a major crackdown on organized mail theft, Peel and Halton Police have arrested 8NRIs men following a months-long joint investigation with Canada Post. The coordinated operation uncovered a sophisticated network targeting residential mailboxes across the Region of Peel, resulting in hundreds of stolen items and significant disruption to the community.

The investigation, launched in April 2025, focused on a string of mail thefts that had been plaguing neighborhoods in Mississauga and surrounding areas. Acting on search warrants executed on September 8 and 9, police raided multiple residences in Mississauga — including homes on Rhinebank Street, Brandon Gate Drive, Dwiggin Avenue, and Kittridge Drive.

During the raids, officers recovered hundreds of pieces of stolen mail, including credit cards, gift cards, government-issued identification documents, and more than 250 cheques. Investigators believe the suspects were working together to intercept mail and exploit the stolen items for financial gain.

As a result, the following individuals have been charged with a combined 344 offenses related to property crimes:

Sumanpreet Singh

Gurdeep Chattha

Jashandeep Jattana

Harman Singh

Jasanpreet Singh

Manroop Singh

Rajbir Singh

Upinderjit Singh

All eight accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing. Peel Regional Police are also collaborating with the Peel Crown Attorney’s Office and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to determine whether removal proceedings may be initiated against any of the accused foreign nationals.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and to promptly collect their mail to help prevent further thefts. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact investigators with the 21 Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 2133, or provide anonymous tips through Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or peelcrimestoppers.ca.
