Telugu Association of Southern California Summer Picnic

Telugu Association of Southern California (TASC), conducted Summer Family Picnic in Columbia Park, Torrance, attended by about 250 members. Kids, Women and Men enjoyed the Picnic which had lots of Games, Competitions, traditional South Indian Food. Telugu Traditional Summer Buttermilk was the highlight and brought nativity to the Event. 

On this occasion, in Kids Arts competition winners were Divyanshi – 1 yr, Anush – 2 yrs, Bhavana – 4 yrs, Amitha – 6 yrs, Shravya Hotha – 7 yrs, Saowmya Pendem – 11 yrs, Sravya Kotha – 13 yrs. In the three leg race the winners were Sowjanya Hotha, Sowmya Pendem, Rashmika Veturi, Bhoomika, Arnav, Lokesh, Sravya, Isha, Nisha, Ashritha. In the Women competitions, Beans Game conducted by Sridevi Madala, First Prize went to Rajitha and second prize went to Radhika. In the ‘Prize is Right’ game, winners were Sailaja, first and Lavanya, second.

In the Musical Quadrants game conducted by Sameera Veturi, first prize went to Saritha and second prize to Kavitha. In the Jumble words game conducted by Sudha Kotha, first prize winner was Sailaja and second prize went to Radhika. Men played Cricket and Volley Ball. All the age groups enjoyed the day with many other games like Kho-Kho, Sack Race, and Tug of War.  

TASC President, Bharathi Pinninty, Thanked every one for attending the Picnic and said that, it is always a wonderful feeling to be surrounded by our own people from back home. She, Thanked all the team members, Vijay Bhaskar Nekkanti – Treasurer, Shyam Gumdala – Games & Sports Chairman, Shiva Nannapaneni – Food Chairman, Benarjee Sunkavalli – Venue Chairman, Satish Bandaru – Publicity Chairman, Srinivas Komarisetty, Srinivas Chava, Hari Madala, Srinivas Tipparthi, Livingston, Sameera Veturi, Sudha Kotha, Sridevi Madala, Narendra, Mohan and several others for their exceptional work to make the event a success. She, expressed her Special Thanks to Lunch Sponsors, Vasantha Bhavan Sri Pratap Gade, Kids Arts Competition Sponsor GSR Technologies and Snack Sponsors Annapurna Gardens, Lawndale Sri. Ravindra. 

Picnic ended with Prize distribution to all the winners by Advisory Committee member and Past President Sri. Mallik Banda, President – Bharathi Pinninty, Treasurer – Vijay Bhaskar Nekkanti, Games & Sports Chair – Shyam Gumdala, Cultural Chair – Prasad Rani and the Competition Organizers
