Dilip Butani elected Chairman of SCMC

Sindhi Association of Southern California (SASC) and Sindhu Center Managing Committee (SCMC) elected their new executive committees for the year 2012-13. Chandru Shroff was elected as President of SASC while Dilip Butani was elected as Chairman of SCMC.

The SASC team has Chandru Shroff as President, Mohan Dadlani as Imm Past President, Chandra Ramsinghani as Vice President, Kamal Lala as General Secretary, Prakash Navani as Jt Secretary, Ramesh Ramnani as Treasurer, Hari Dadlani as Religious Co-ordinator, Anita Advani as PRO, Raj Ramchandani as Joint PRO, Sona Jhangiani as Cultural Secretary, Kavita Ahuja as Social Secretary, Raju Totlani as Web Administrator and Puneet Punjabi as Editor.

The SCMC team has  Dilip Butani as Chairman, Ramesh Ramnani as Vice Chairman, Kishan Hingorani as Administrator, Chandru Shroff as General Secretary, Hari Dadlani, as Food & Catering-in-charge, Rajesh Chellani as Joint Administrator and Raj Ramchandani as Supplies & Maintenance-in-charge.

SASC organizes a Diwali function and a picnic every year and plans on expanding its cultural, social and philanthropic activities this year including setting up of a community outreach program.  The Association promotes cultural and social activities amongst its members and this year plans to reach out to other Indian organizations for broader based co-operation on common goals and objectives.   The Sindhu Center is primarily involved in managing and operating the temple in Norwalk, CA.  The Center organizes functions and activities at the temple for the major Hindu festivals and other religious activities. Religious functions regularly organized include Mata Ki Chowki, Satsangs, Havans, Mata Ka Jagran, Hanuman Jayanti, Maha Shivratri, Janmashtmi, and Guru Nanak Jayanti.  In addition, Centre has weekly Bal Vihar and Yoga classes. The temple has been visited and used for lectures and sermons by great luminaries as Dada Vaswaniji, Acharya Mridul Krishna Goswamiji, Swani Mukundanandaji, Jaya Rowji and others.
