NRI, Miss Reshma Boodoo, 19 and her boy friend Anil
Singh also 19, abducted by three men, thrown out of
their hijacked car and after few minutes car crashed
head on into a pickup truck at around 6.30 p.m. on the
Tarouba Link Road, Palmyra Village and injuring two
men. The three men ran in the bushes after accident.
Reshma Boodoo's both arms were broken and she died
before medical help arrived. Anil Singh of Petite Cafe
Village, Princes Town, is at the Intensive Care Unit
of the San Fernando General Hospital and still in a
critical condition. The girl's parents said they had
not been told of the abduction and only came to know
of the accident.
Witnesses told that Reshma was drinking but not drunk.
She was talking about wanting to have a party for her
birthday Wednesday. She left home at 1.30 p.m. on Saturday
to go to the grocery but went to a bar in Princes Town
where she met Anil Singh.
Reshma's father said his daughter had a troubled in
the past, but had changed over the past three months
and did not know anything about Singh.. "As a father
I would do my best to caution her. Now there is nothing
we can do. We are helpless."
Anil Singh's family own a trucking transport company
and his parents told media that they did not aware about
accident and how he ended up critically injured at the
side of the road.
