This is an honest endeavor to honour excellence in the most vibrant music industry in the world – The Punjabi Music industry. Through these annual awards, ETC Channel Punjabi is celebrating and honoring outstanding achievements in Punjabi music in 24 different categories covering every aspect of the music industry from singing, writing, composing to choreography and music video direction. Mr. Rabindra Narayan, President, ETC Channel Punjabi says, “ Punjabi music is now a world wide rage. More Punjabi albums are released every month than any other language. More Punjabi singers go abroad to entertain the world with Punjabi music than any other language’s singers. It is high time that the creators of this exquisite brand of music be honored with an award which has the respect of the entire industry.” Adds Ms. Rajiee M Shinde, VP (Programming), “ETC Channel Punjabi is the most popular Punjabi music channel in the industry. Its is only fitting that we start this glorious tradition where every year we honor the very best in Punjabi music.” The ETC CHANNEL PUNJABI MUSIC AWARDS presentation ceremony will be the biggest event ever seen in Punjab and will showcase the best of the Punjabi music industry. Names of the winners will be announced from sealed envelopes. The On-ground ceremony at Jalandhar is featuring Live performances by some of the biggest names in the business in India, U.K. and Pakistan. Anchored by witty firebrand Navjot Siddhu and Sunita, it will be broadcast LIVE on ETC Channel Punjabi and Alpha TV Punjabi on Saturday, February 21, 2004 from 7.00 Pm into the homes of the viewers in India and more than a 100 countries around the world. The selection procedure for the awards is fair, transparent and unbiased. It is modeled on the lines of international Awards of repute in which the general public and an elite panel of judges are jointly selecting the winners. The Nominees would be publicized through ETC CHANNEL PUNJABI,
ALPHA TV PUNJABI and the press. The viewers will then be asked to cast
their votes through SMS or on a form made available through newspapers,
websites and product packs. The panel of judges will cast their individual
votes. The total votes collected in this manner will be given equal points
between Judges and Viewers’ votes and a final tally of points will
be tabulated |
