world. Punjabi you know, is known as a martial race
world over. We have spread the fragrance of our sweat
wherever we worked and settled.

- So Kiran, since you
have lots of achievements to your credit, I would
like to start from the name you got from your parents,
that is, k i r a n; Definitely, when we say there
is a kiran, it means there is hope; it's a ray of
hope for generations to come. It's a personification
of LIGHT. What do you think in the context of your
musical sphere?
-Yes, Harbans, whenever a person starts
his journey, he sets a target and cultivate a hope
in his mind and heart replete with so many hopes.
Similar is, and was the case with me. It's my privilege
that you see a hope in me; a hope for the betterment
of Punjabi Culture and arts. I have my own way of
work. I did and do hard labor to accomplish. God gave
me ruthless energy to accomplish.
- Kiran, as I see you,
you are a combination of Beauty, Brilliance and Melody.
Before entering this field what level of education
you acquired?
- I graduated from the University
of Toronto with a degree in Industrial Relations.
- But, how did you
choose to become a singer? Was it a chance occurrence
or it was a family phenomenon.
-There was an atmosphere of music
in my family. My father was fond of music.
- How did you actually
begin?
-Right from my childhood; may be at
about the age of seven.
- Do you compose music
for your songs yourself ?
-Not for all but, leaving a few I
compose myself.
- How many albums you
have released so far?
-Two.
- One thing I could
not understand, Kiran, how did you think of singing
Ghazals and folksongs simultaneously?
-Because found myself equally competent
in both the forms and I feel comfortable while dealing
with
- You
have given your voice to Koka, a very popular folk
sing already sung by Sarbjit, who, after she sang,
is known Sarbjit Kokewali till date. Do you think
you have paralleled her?
-Yes, I suppose so because these days
Koka sung by me is also equally popular.
- OK. Kiran, something
about your husband and kinds.
-I feel great. I am unmarried.
- Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Thank you very much Kiran for the time you gave for
the Interview. I wish you a bright career throughout.
-Thanks
