Jet Airways to operate flights to Newark and Toronto

April 18, 2010:

Jet Airways has received permission from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to operate flights to and from the United States and Canada via Athens in Greece. The airline plans to operate flights from Mumbai and Delhi to help passengers reach their final destinations in the United States and Canada.

Jet Airways has ensured that the chosen route via Athens is one that would avoid the volcanic ash that is currently affecting European air space. As a responsible carrier, the airline had initiated this dialogue to ensure a quick resumption of flight operations to North America, while minimizing the inconvenience and discomfort to its guests in this difficult situation

Jet Airways flights to Newark and Toronto will operate on the 19th as per the following schedule

Post the closure of London Heathrow and Brussels Airports due to the volcanic eruptions in Iceland, Jet Airways has been working closely with the relevant authorities to evaluate the possibility of mounting flights to and from the United States and Canada via an alternate technical transit point in Europe.
 
The airline plans to resume flights to London and Brussels as soon as London Heathrow and Brussels airports re-open.

In case of cancellation/ rescheduling of guest travel plans, all penalties have been waived as a gesture of goodwill. Jet Airways regrets inconvenience caused to its guests due to a situation beyond our control.
