Vijay Singh continued his extraordinary run with victory in the Pennsylvania
Classic on Sunday, completing his fifth PGA win in six starts and breaking
Tiger Woods's single-season earnings record.
The world number one shot a final-round 69 to win by one stroke from
American Stewart Cink and seal his eighth title of 2004.
Singh, who knocked Woods off the top of the world rankings this month
for the first time in over five years, took his prize money for the
season to $9,455,566, breaking the record Woods set in 2000.
"Winning doesn't get old," Singh told reporters. "I
love it. I never get tired of it."
The Fijian also won the US PGA Championship last month, his third major
title.
Pat Perez, Zach Johnson, Chris DiMarco and Jonathan Byrd tied for third
place in Pennsylvania.
