FOR THREATENING THE YOUTH ON VALLENTINE CELEBRATIONS.

WRITES TO PRESIDENT OF INDIA, SAYS ITS VIOLATION OF
INDIAN CONSTITUTION.
The National President of the Sehajdhari Sikh Federation Dr.P.S.Ranu
has written a letter to the President of India drawing her attention
towards certain Fanatic Organizations like Bajrang Dal and Shri
Ram Sena who are openly giving threats in the media that they will
oppose the celebrations of Valentine day with manual forces and
forcefully arrange the marriages of the couples found moving together
on the Valentine day. The Sehajdhari Federation stated that these
type of open statements issued for cheap popularity are against
the Constitution of India and are serious threats to the Sovereignty
and Integrity of India.
The two page letter states that according to Article
19(1)(d) of the Constitution of India under the RIGHT TO FREEDOM
every citizen has a Right to freedom to move freely throughout the
territory of India and as per Article 21 under Protection of Life
and personal Liberty No person shall be deprived of his life or
personal liberty except according to procedure established by Law.
Hence the State Administrations are duty bound to provide protection
to its citizens and to maintain law and order in the States so that
no un-towards situation arises.
Also according to Article 25 of the Constitution
of India "subject to public orders morality and health and
to the other provisions of this part all persons are equally entitled
to freedom of conscience and the right freely to profess, practice
and propagate religion." Hence no one has any right to impose
any religious bindings on any one.
Dr.Ranu said that that the spirit of the Valentine day is to spread
the message of Love and love should not be misinterpreted. It can
be given a healthy meaning in India which is a land of Saints and
Sages where Love has been termed as a Symbol of Sympathy towards
the Humanity.
The statements and actions of these fanatic organizations
has created a panic in the minds of the young generation where even
bad elements will try to attain their vested motives under the grab
of these organizations. The SSF has requested the President of India
that necessary action should be taken against such miscreants and
the State Administrations should be directed to make special arrangements
for maintaining law and order.
The Sehajdhari Sikh Federation has also decided to
support the Administrations and will also make necessary personal
arrangements by deputing special vigilant groups of the federation
to provide security to the Youths so that no anti social miscreant
may dishonor the modesty of our female youngsters in the society.
Dr.Ranu stated that hopefully the Country expects
stern action against such elements from the hands of Her Highness
who is also the first citizen female of the Nation and people expect
an exemplary action at her end so that the young generation may
feel secured in the Country.

Subject: Appeal to take legal action as per Article 21 and 19 of
the Constitution of India against the Fanatic Organizations who
are threatening the youth of India for celebration of Valentine
day on 14/2/09.

Most humbly the Sehajdhari Sikh Federation hereby request you that
