NRI brothers Harry Gill and Avtar Gill contributed Rs.5 million to set up the school in village Muksudran near Ludhiana city, with the help of state government's additional grant of Rs.10 million.

The Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal along with Deputy Speaker Lok Sabha Charanjit Singh Atwal, MP from Ropar Sukhdev Singh Libra, Jail & Tourism Minister Hira Singh Gabria, Media Advisor to Chief Minister Harcharan Bains, Ex-Minister Jagdish Singh Garcha, District President Santa Singh Umedpuri inagurate the school building

The Punjab Chief Minister said the school would be built on 8 acre campus and and more schools will be set up with public-private participation.

He also promised to make it a model school under the state government's newly launched plan for "Adarsh" schools. The concept of the Adarsh school is very clear- to provide free education to the bright and poor students to ensure them a level playing field in the sphere of education. Three such schools have been already set up - one freedom fighter Bhagat Singh's villiage Khatkar Kalan, second Tohra and third in Talwandi Sabo.
