NRI Parvez Patel, a 34-year-old estate agent from East London, has been sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of violently attacking a sex worker in Westminster, central London. Patel, who had arranged a session with the woman at her home, launched a brutal assault shortly after arriving. The victim, a woman in her 40s, suffered severe injuries, including a broken nose, extensive bruising, swelling, and cuts.

The horrific attack occurred on the evening of January 31 this year, with neighbors hearing the victim's screams and immediately alerting the police. Patel, who was found at the scene, was arrested without delay. Following a three-week trial at Southwark Crown Court, Patel was convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent. He was acquitted of additional charges, including attempted rape, sexual assault, and making threats to kill.

Detective Constable Lloyd Leech, from the Metropolitan Police’s Central West rape and serious sexual offences unit, praised the quick response of the public, which allowed authorities to intervene swiftly. He highlighted that sex workers are particularly vulnerable and assured that the police would continue working tirelessly to support victims and bring offenders to justice. PC Preet Brar, the victim's specialist support officer, also commended her bravery in reporting the attack and providing vital evidence during the trial, which helped secure the custodial sentence.
This case serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting vulnerable individuals and supporting those who have experienced violence.
