NRI Harry Sidhu Elected Mayor of Anaheim, has Made History
He is believed to be the first Non-white man elected mayor since Anaheim became a City

Harry Sidhu, newly elected mayor of Anaheim confirmed NRIpress.com (A. Gary Singh Grewal)on telephone that he has official elected as a Mayor of Anaheim. Harry Sidhu was leading a field of eight candidates to replace Mayor Tom Tait.

Sidhu’s mayoral race was just one of many remarkable outcomes in local elections across the US. It’s a historic feat that turned heads around the country; he is believed to be the first Non-white man elected mayor since Anaheim became a City.

Harry Sidhu released the following statement after election results showed he has won a decisive victory:

“I want to thank my family, my supporters, and, most importantly, the Anaheim community for taking the time to cast your vote for me and the vision we share together for Anaheim’s future. I am honored and thrilled to lead the charge in unifying our city once again. The residents of Anaheim know that it’s time to move past the divisiveness and get back to working with all residents, businesses, and workforce that make Anaheim what it is today. We must return to the understanding that we only succeed when we all succeed. For Anaheim to thrive, we must work together and that starts anew today.

Anaheim is the most populous city in Orange County and second largest in terms of land area (after Irvine).  it is known for the location of the Disneyland Resort, sports teams (such as the Anaheim Ducks, which is located at the Honda Center), and its convention center.

Disneyland has a larger cumulative attendance than any other theme park in the world, with 708 million visitors since it opened (as of December 2017). Sidhu will be one of NRI Sikh mayors in the US, which includes Mayor Preet Didbal of Yuba City AND Mayor Ravinder Singh Bhalla of Hoboken.
