California Republican Assembly Endorses Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem Harry Sidhu for Supervisor

Anaheim, CA, Feb. 22, 2010

Coming on the heels of major announcements of support by Orange County Board of Supervisors Chair Janet Nguyen and Vice Chair Bill Campbell, Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem Harry Sidhu earned yet another influential endorsement on Saturday – that of the California Republican Assembly (CRA), one of California’s oldest and largest Republican grass roots organizations.

“It’s been a very momentous two weeks for the Sidhu campaign,” said Sidhu Spokesman Tim Clark. “The CRA endorsement is a clear sign that Harry Sidhu is consolidating support among fiscally conservative voters who are looking for stalwart pro-taxpayer, pro-small business representatives at all levels of government.”

“The CRA’s endorsement of Harry Sidhu for Orange County Supervisor, 4th District, demonstrates the membership’s belief that Harry is a candidate we can trust in upholding our conservative Republican values,” stated Karl Heft, CRA Vice President.

“I’m proud and honored to have the support of my colleagues in the CRA,” said Mayor Pro Tem Sidhu. “I look forward to bringing conservative values of lower taxes and limited government to my work as the next Supervisor for the 4th District.”

Mayor Pro Tem Harry Sidhu was first elected to the Anaheim City Council in 2004 and was overwhelmingly re-elected to a second term in 2008. On the Council, he quickly established a reputation as a tough-minded advocate for streamlined, efficient government and as a champion of small business. Harry also ensured the protection of property rights through the successful passage of a City Charter Amendment prohibiting eminent domain abuse. As a local business owner, he employs over 120 people with annual sales of close to $5 million a year.

OC Board of Supervisors Chair Janet Nguyen Endorses Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem Harry Sidhu for Supervisor ------ Board Chair Nguyen Joins Vice Chair Bill Campbell in Supporting Sidhu

Anaheim, CA, Feb. 19, 2010

Today, Orange County Board of Supervisors Chair Janet Nguyen announced her endorsement of prominent businessman and Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem Harry Sidhu for the open 4th District Supervisor seat. Sidhu’s campaign continues to gain significant momentum after the recent endorsement by Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Bill Campbell.

"Our county faces many challenges as we continue to weather the economic downturn," said Chair Nguyen. "Now more than ever, we need proven fiscal conservatives, like Harry Sidhu, on the Board of Supervisors who will work with us to help streamline government, maximize efficiency and protect taxpayer dollars. Harry is an accomplished businessman who believes in cutting government waste and balancing our budgets without tax increases. Harry possesses the experience and determination we need on the Board, and I strongly believe taxpayers will be well-served by Harry Sidhu. He is the right fit for Orange County."

Board Chair Janet Nguyen is widely considered a rising star in Orange County politics. First elected in a February 2007 special election, she became the youngest supervisor in Orange County history, as well as the first Vietnamese American elected to the Board and the first woman elected to the First District. Janet easily won re-election in 2008 and has since taken over the duties of Chair on the Board of Supervisors. Her announcement of support follows a strong fundraising effort by Harry Sidhu, who finished 2009 with over $210,000 cash on hand – a total that was more than double that of his closest competitors.

"Chair Janet Nguyen represents Orange County's spirit of leadership and 'can-do' determination, and I am honored to have her endorsement support," stated Mayor Pro Tem Harry Sidhu.
