NRI MP, Dr. Ruby Dhalla Attend community organizations

As one of the youngest woman elected to Parliament Member of Parliament for Brampton Springdale, Dr. Ruby Dhalla has been a strong voice for youth, women, seniors and the families of the Brampton community. Since being elected in 2004, Dr. Dhalla has attended thousands of community events, met with thousands of constituents, and advocated for the needs of the men and women of Brampton Springdale.

On a weekly basis Dr. Dhalla visits local schools to engage, and empower young people to make a difference in the community.  In addition last month, Dr. Dhalla had the pleasure of celebrating Asian Heritage Month at some of the local schools which highlighted the rich culture and diversity of Peel Region. As a strong advocate for youth, and founder of the Brampton-Springdale Youth Advisory Council, Dr. Dhalla is dedicated to providing youth with the tools and resources they need to succeed. In fact she was recently the guest speaker at Notre Dame Secondary School’s Anti-Bullying Campaign Assembly, in which youth, parents and teachers rallied in support of ending bullying in schools and in our community.

As a champion for diversity, Dr. Dhalla is also committed to promoting Brampton’s community organizations.

In the past month Dr. Dhalla has also been invited as the guest of honour to community events with organizations such as the Gujarati Business Association, Swarnim Gujarat, World Punjabi Organization, the United Achievers and the Afghan Women’s Organization.

This past weekend, Dr. Dhalla also attended a number of events in Brampton including the MicroSkills Gala which celebrated youth and female leaders in the community. In addition she also participated in the Road Today Truck Show which was a two day trucking show exhibition organized at the Powerade Centre in Brampton to highlight the achievements of the trucking industry. She also had the pleasure of inaugurating the opening of the Aboriginal Medicine Wheel Garden at the Heart Lake Conservation Area which was attending by hundreds of residents from Heartlake and families from Brampton.

Dr. Dhalla is a grassroots and community focused MP who is committed to serving the needs of the Brampton community. Over the years thousands of have received service from her constituency office on matters related to immigration, employment, Revenue Canada, seniors benefits, and veteran affairs.

Dr. Dhalla holds meetings in her office with constituents on Fridays to address individual needs and concerns and is always there to be a strong voice for Brampton families.  Dr. Dhalla is dedicated and committed to working with the community of Brampton Springdale.
