The Southern California Chapter of Rishi Samskruti Vidya Kendra
(RSVK) has organized a prayer session of "Shanti Paath"
on December 29th at 11 am at the Mandir in Irvine (16540 Aston Street,
Irvine CA 92606) in the memory of the 188 people recently died in
the terrorist attack in Mumbai. Shanti Paath is a ritual done in
Sanatan Hindu tradition after death of a family member. Since those
who died in Mumbai were of different faiths, people from local spiritual
and religious organizations will come together and chant peace mantras
to give farewell to the diseased. In the ancient India similar Yagnas
were performed to bring peace, rains, and better crops, to fight
against epidemics or even to fight a powerful enemy.
RSVK was started in 2004 by Poojya Guruji Rishi Prabhakarji. It
is a the non-profit, non-religious, educational & charitable
trust training people in silence and universal consciousness worldwide.
"Wars amongst different religions will end when we pray together"
is the mantra given by Poojya Guruji. He says "as one and the
same water is called by different names by different people, some
calling it 'water', some 'vari', some 'aqua' and some 'pani', so
the one Sacchidananda, i.e. Existence-Intelligence-Bliss Absolute
is invoked by some as God, by some as Allah, by some as Hari and
by others as Brahman." He further elaborates that "all
religions speak for unity, togetherness, brotherhood and peace.
But, these simple facts of religion are misinterpreted and have
become the cause of hatred and resulted in minor conflicts to major
wars. People of different religions have learnt to live, eat, socialize,
even marry each other and do business and trade. But, they have
not learnt to pray together. When they come together and pray under
the grace of God, wonderful relationships develop. Differences between
MY GOD and OUR GOD dissolve and religious harmony springs up."
In early 80's under the inspiring guidance of Poojya Guruji Rishi
Prabhakarji, RSVK through its 700 centers worldwide started a movement
called "Global Religious Harmony". Under this movement
regular prayer sessions are held in temples, mosques, Churches,
Gurdwaras & various religious establishments. These sessions
are attended by priests, rabbis, pastors and various faiths and
community leaders along with their followers. People come together
and share the perspective of Love, peace and oneness given by different
faiths.
.Our modern logical mind may not believe this. But when people
with positive intensions come together they invoke the positive
energies in the atmosphere.
All are welcome to join this program and offer peace to the world.
