NRI, Navin Chaddha have placed 58th postion on Forbes' 2007 Midas List.

Navin Chaddha is an accomplished serial entrepreneur and venture investor with a proven track record in growing startup companies to industry leadership and successful exits. He has founded three companies and have a passion for building industry leaders by working with entrepreneurs that can change the way people live, work, and play.

Navin leads Gabriel's investment efforts in India focusing on technology-enabled businesses, serving both overseas and domestic Indian markets. In the U.S. he leads the Software, Content, and Services sector while also focusing on Network Infrastructure investments.

Venture Capital
Navin has been involved as an investor in over 25 venture-backed technology companies since 1995. Navin currently leads and serves on the board of directors of the following Gabriel portfolio companies: NeoPath, Persistent Systems, LVL7, and TestQuest. In addition he has led Gabriel's investments in India, including Allsec (IPO on Bombay Stock Exchange), IL&FS Investsmart (IPO on Bombay Stock Exchange), Makemytrip, Persistent Systems, Provogue (IPO on Bombay Stock Exchange), and Tejas Networks.

Prior to joining Gabriel, Navin was a Venture Partner and Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Mobius Venture Capital leading their cross-border US-India investments and business development activities in India . He led an investment in Reametrix at Mobius, (a US-India cross-border life sciences service company), served on its board, and was involved in advising several Mobius portfolio companies with offshoring to India.

During his tenure at Microsoft, Navin co-led several investments that included Akamai (IPO on NASDAQ), Northpoint Communications (IPO on NASDAQ), Qwest Communications (PIPE), and Rhythms NetConnections (IPO on NASDAQ). With his domain expertise and reputation, he has been invited to serve as an independent BOD member for several venture backed companies including HeyAnita, New Moon Systems (acquired by Tarantella, SUN), and PocketThis.

Navin has also been an angel investor in venture backed companies including Crossvue (acquired by Symbol), iBeam Broadcasting (IPO), IDFC (Indian IPO), Indya.com (India's leading Internet portal, acquired by News Corp), PlanetAsia (acquired by GCI), Shree Renuka Sugars (Indian IPO), StillSecure, Suzlon (Indian IPO), Syndicate Bank (Indian IPO), Thrupoint, and Vendavo.

Operating Experience
Navin started his entrepreneurial career during his Ph.D. studies at Stanford by co-founding VXtreme, a streaming media software company. He served as its Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Business Development before its acquisition by Microsoft to become the foundation of Windows Media, which has several hundred million users today. After the acquisition, he spent several years at Microsoft making strategic investments in various management roles including being responsible for the go-to-market strategy and product offerings for the telecom, cable, ISP, wireless, and network equipment industries. Navin also co-founded iBeam Broadcasting, a content delivery network that went public on NASDAQ before being acquired by Williams Communications. He then co-founded Rivio, a small business ASP and served as its Chairman, President, and CEO. When Rivio was acquired by CPA2Biz (a subsidiary of American Institute of CPAs), the leading offline and online portal for CPAs, he served as President and Vice Chairman of CPA2Biz. Navin also consulted for Xerox PARC and SUN Microsystems during his graduate studies at Stanford.

International Experience
Navin was raised and educated in India through his undergraduate studies. Hindi is his native language. He has been investing in Indian startups since the mid 1990s and all of the companies he is involved with have been leveraging India since the mid 1990s for offshore R&D. He also spent more than 18 months in India pioneering investments and offshoring efforts for Mobius Venture Capital prior to joining Gabriel. Navin spends considerable time in India today with his portfolio companies, business development efforts for U.S. companies, and deal sourcing. He also setup Gabriel's India operations.

Board Memberships and Affiliations
Navin serves as a board member of LVL7, Neopath, Persistent Systems, and TestQuest. Including past positions, he has served on the boards of over ten companies. He is a Charter Member of TiE and serves as the Co-Chair of TiE CXO Forum, Co-Chair of TiE VC Forum: India Connect, Co-Chair Content Team TiECON 2006, the Advisory Boards of TiE Software SIG, and TiE Internet SIG. Navin is also a Charter Member of AAMA and a Global Leader for Tomorrow Member of the World Economic Forum. He was recently selected as Chairman- IBF VC Investing in India Conference in November 2005.
