NRI steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal Company
said that we are studying the potential of
investment in the metal and mining sector.
Mr. Mittal is negotiating with the government in
Jharkhand about his projects. His Company representative
said that there is no any final decision for investment
of Rs 40,000 crore in the state as media reports.
We are still in the study of financial details and
in the process to examine investment potential in
the steel sector.
This will be the first investment in India by NRI
Lakshmi Mittal
NRI, Mittal Steel company has earned a record net
income of US $4.7 billion for the twelve months ended
December 31, 2004, compared to net income of US $1.2
billion for the corresponding period in the previous
year, it was officially announced today.
Consolidated sales and operating income for the same
period were US $22.2 billion and US $6.1 billion respectively,
compared to US $9.6 billion and US $1.3 billion, respectively
for the year ended December 31, 2003.
