:In this materialistic world, while people fight for even an inch of land, a non-resident Indian from the USA, Mrs Sunanda Dutta, has registered her ancestral property (land and building of 12 decimal) in the name of a trust board.
A process is on to donate the same to Patanjali Yoga pith, Haridwar, an organisation founded by Swami Ramdevji Maharaj. The land ~ estimated to be worth several lakhs of rupees ~ is in Gopalgaon ~ the prime locality in Balasore. The property was handed over to Sudhansu Kumar Ghose Memorial Trust in the last week of December and a yoga centre, named Patanjali Yoga Pith, was functioning there. She registered the building in favour of the pith yesterday.
Veteran freedom fighter Dr Rabindra Mohan Das inaugurated the centre for all while Sadar MLA Mr Arun Dey and several other eminent persons were present at the function.

“This was my ancestral property. Since my advocate father had a desire to work for the distressed, the under-privileged and the common masses, I thought that the land be used for a trust in his name ~ Sudhansu Memorial,” 62-year-old Mrs Dutta said.

She added that her husband ,Mr Shyamal Dutta, had always encouraged her.

Mr Shymal Dutta was also in the USA after serving for nearly 30 years as a chemical engineer with news print companies in Texas, Boston and other cities in North America.

Mrs Dutta earlier handed over another plot and building at Vivekananda Marg, in the heart of the town to Vipasana Kendra( a meditation centre).

Mrs Dutta, who is a graduate in Bachelor of Science from Revanshaw college, ran a laundry and dry cleaning shop in the USA. With a strong desire to do some thing for people, she ran a charitable centre called Ananda Lok for children from the low-income group. Her endeavour for the cause of the poor has received wide acclaim.
