Chief Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal warned Sukhbir Singh Badal to
restrain from invading “Right to Freedom of Speech and Expression"
enshrined in Article 19(1)(a) of Constitution of India and termed
Freedom of Press, "a Treasured Privilege”. Grewal stated
that Sukhbir Badal have imposed an undeclared Emergency similar
to an Internal Emergency declared by Indira Gandhi in 1975.
In a Press Conference at Press Club Jalandhar Grewal stated that
the modus operandi of Sukhbir Singh Badal is similar to Indira
Gandhi, Late Congress tyrant, who suppressed thought process of
the editors through her 3 point programme: allocation of Government
advertising; shotgun merger of News agencies; and use of fear
arousal techniques on Newspaper Publishers, Journalists and Individual
Shareholders. Grewal added that Sukhbir Badal is one step ahead
of Indira, apart from ensuring huge allocation of Government advertising,
forced takeovers and consolidation of Cable TV Networks through
“benami companies” viz. Shan-e-Punjab, DIGI Cable
and Fastway Cable and misuse of power against stakeholders of
media houses who don’t toe to his line, Sukhbir went on
to enterprise his own TV Channels such as PTC Group of TV Channels
for self embellishment and quck buck. Since, Sukhbir Badal now
controls 95% of the Cable TV Networks, thus Punjab Today and Zee

Grewal equated the current situation with June, 1975, when Indira
Gandhi led Congress Government declared a State of Emergency and
suspended civil liberties, thereafter the Government tightened
its controls on the Indian Mass Media, especially on the Newspapers
which had reputation of being free and lively. “Leaders
learn from others mistakes and don’t do blunders themselves”,
advised Grewal. “Sukhbir shouldn’t create an emergency
like situation and repeat historic blunder orchestrated by Indira
Gandhi during Internal Emergency of 1975”, added Grewal.
Grewal stressed upon the importance of free mass media in a democratic
process of nation building and advised the Press to look beyond
advertising. Grewal stated that Sh. L.K Advani, Sardar Prakash
Singh Badal and other veteran Leaders of SAD BJP alliance have
opposed Internal Emergency declared by Indira Gandhi and even
spent Jail terms. Grewal advised Sardar Prakash Singh Badal to
intervene and ask Sukhbir to take corrective action else this
may result in heavy losses to the alliance in upcoming Lok Sabha
Elections as opportunist leaders like Captain Amarinder Singh
his adulator Sukhpal Singh Khaira are using the situation as an
opportunity to vein false propaganda against SAD BJP alliance.

Senior Bharatiya Janta Party Leader and BJP Investor Cell Punjab
State President Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal spoke his heart to
Gurcharan Singh Galib, SAD BJP Candidate from Ludhiana constituency
while addressing a huge gathering at his residence in Bhamian
Kalan, Ludhiana. Grewal stated that he was the only Leader who
helped Sardar Prakash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Singh Badal
when Captain Amarinder Singh reign of terror was at the peak for
which a show cause notice was issued by Punjab BJP office for
his suspension. He added that now the opportunist father son duo
almost forgot him and are trying their level best to get him suspended
from BJP. He aggrieved that he and his family is under persistent
threat and events in past corroborate this but Sukhbir Singh Badal
rewarded him for his work by stripping his 17 years old Security
arrangements immediately after forming Government. He rued that
he is prepared for everything including being eliminated while
suspension isn’t a big leap but still he will work for the
welfare for the people and will ensure that SAD BJP alliance wins
all 13 seats from Punjab.
Grewal stated that Sukhbir Singh Badal is out to penalize him
for taking pro people issues viz. Reduction of Bus Fares, Additional
3% Stamp Duty extortion, Advertisement Scam expose, Taking on
Government over Cyber Terrorism, Advocacy over Bofors Scam sequel
“Indo-Nuclear Deal”, Terming Shri Amarnath Shrine
Board agitation “Nationalist Movement” and playing
positive role in restoration of peace and tranquility in valley.
He added that he is serving his Party and people of Punjab for
last 20 years without any vested political interest and will continue
to serve the philosophy and tenets central of his party whether
in the party or being ousted. But he will leave no stone unturned
in exposing corrupt Transporters who have unduly taken over all
profitable routes forcibly, people behind Advertisement Scam,
illegal Sand Miners, Cable TV grabbers etc who are looting Government
and people of Punjab through their big wig contacts. He said he
would continue his fight against all such vested interests that
are out to spoil his party’s image and in the coming days
he would make startling revelations about their misdeeds in the
court of people of Punjab.
Grewal also brought to the notice of Sardar Gurucharan Singh
Galib about the problems being faced by BJP Workers ever since
the alliance came into the power. At this time Baldev Singh Hundal
President Bhartiya Kisan Union, Sony Galib, Tejvir Pohir, Jagtar
Singh Bhagpur, Chamkaur Singh Kohara, Sarpanch Ajit Singh, Gurmeet
Singh Grewal Canada, Yograj Sharda District Gen. Secretary BJP
Rural, Lucky Sabharwal and other BJP Rural prominent Leaders were
