DINNER EVENING WITH STATE BANK OF INDIA OFFICIALS

United Federation of the Indo-Americans of California (UFICA), organized a Dinner Evening on May 9, 2012 at the Haveli Indian Cuisine, Pioneer Boulevard, Artesia, California, USA, at 7:30 pm on behalf fo State Bank of India, NRI Division.

A team of officials from State Bank of India, NRI Division, India, visited Los Angeles on May 9, 2012. The officials were as follows:
1. Mr. S. K. Bhattacharya, General Manager (NRI Services).
2. Mr. Y. Subba Rao, AGM, NRI Branch, Hyderabad.
3. Mr. U. N. Narayana Maiya, AGM, SPPB, Bangalore
The objective of the State Bank of India officials was to interact with members of the Indian community to build relationships and to explain the current Banking benefits to NRI's and Scenario in India. They wanted to make the NRI's aware of the new rules and regulations in terms of depositing funds as an NRI and the benefits set forth.
State Bank of India, is the country's largest commercial Bank in terms of Profits, Assets, Deposits, Branches and Employees. SBI has a heritage dating back to 1806, and has strived to continuously provide latest and upto date information on its financial performance.
The SBI officials focused on various types of accounts available to NRI's like the NRO - Non Resident Ordinary Rupee Accounts, NRE - Non Resident External Accounts, and the FCNR - Foreign Currency Non Resident Accounts. They explained the difference in each account and benefits to NRIs for each of these accounts. They also addressed the Internet Banking facility, the Debit Cards etc. and explained that the Banking Facility is availble on-line as well and the attractive Interest Rates SBI offers.
