NRI Sahil Sharma Confesses to Fatally Stabbing his wife

A 24-year old Sahil Sharma pleaded guilty to murder after stabbing his 19-year-old wife Mehak Sharma, to death at their home.
NRI Sahil Sharma committed a heinous act when he plunged a knife into his wife Mehak Sharma's neck at a residence in Ash Tree Way, Croydon, on October 23 of the previous year. The shocking incident unfolded, leaving a trail of tragedy in its wake.

Upon receiving the distress call, police and paramedics swiftly arrived at the scene, discovering Mehak Sharma unresponsive with catastrophic knife injuries. Despite the valiant efforts of emergency crews who fought to save her, she was pronounced dead approximately 20 minutes later. Following her tragic demise, her family was notified and is currently receiving support from specialized officers. A dedicated post-mortem examination later confirmed that Mehak's cause of death was a stab wound to the neck.

Detective Inspector Laura Semple, leading the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime Command, expressed, "Sahil Sharma’s actions have devastated a family. In killing his wife, he has robbed her family of a loving daughter for reasons known only to himself. While I am pleased that Mehak Sharma’s loved ones will now be spared the experience of going through a trial, nothing can bring her back to them. Mehak was killed in her own home, the place where she should have been safest, by the person who should have loved and protected her. My thoughts today are with her family and loved ones.

Sahil Sharma confessed to the murder during a hearing at Kingston Crown Court on Thursday, and his sentencing is scheduled for April 26 at the same court. Detective Inspector Laura Semple, from the Metropolitan Police's specialist crime command, expressed the profound impact of Sahil Sharma's actions on the victim's family. She stated, 'Sahil Sharma’s actions have devastated a family. In killing his wife, he has robbed her family of a loving daughter for reasons known only to himself. While I am pleased that Mehak Sharma’s loved ones will now be spared the experience of going through a trial, nothing can bring her back to them. Mehak was killed in her own home, the place where she should have been safest, by the person who should have loved and protected her.

On October 31, a post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of Mehak’s death was a stab wound to the neck. Convicted, Sahil Sharma is set to be sentenced at the same court on April 26.
