NRI student Gursharan Singh Bhatia missing after night out with friends, found dead in London lake

On Wednesday afternoon, police divers found the body of a man in the water in South Quay.

Although formal identification has not yet taken place, his family has been informed. The Metropolitan Police are now appealing for assistance to help piece together his last known movements.

• "Gurashman's death is being treated as unexpected, and while there is nothing to suggest it was suspicious, we will ensure our investigation is as thorough as possible to confirm this.
• Because of this, we are releasing a CCTV image of Gurashman that was taken before his disappearance and would like anyone who may have seen him in the Marsh Wall area on the evening of Thursday, December 14 and in the early hours of Friday, December 15, to contact us.

Gurashman Singh Bhatia, an Indian student enrolled at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, has been reported missing since December 15 in East London. The youth, originally from Model Town in Jalandhar, has prompted his worried family to travel to London in search of him.

In a recent update, it has been revealed that Gurashman Singh Bhatia was last seen in Canary Wharf, East London. Concerns about his whereabouts have led to appeals from both Loughborough University and the Indian High Commission to assist in locating him.

BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa has taken to social media to urge External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for intervention in the case. According to Sirsa's statement, Bhatia was last seen in Canary Wharf on December 15, and his current whereabouts remain unknown.
