NRI Sriram Krishnan Former Facebook and Snap executive joins Twitter

Twitter has hired Sriram Krishnan, a former ad tech executive from Facebook and Snap.  He worked on revenue products at Snap till March 2017. He  helped to run various mobile ad products for Facebook, including founding Facebook's Audience Network and growing it to a $1billion business.  He also lead cloud platforms at Yahoo and Microsoft. He is the author of Programming Windows Azure from O'Reilly and a frequent speaker at ad-tech and cloud events.

Krishnan now reports to Coleman, who joined Twitter last December as head of product running the company’s core app. Twitter is struggling with some product issues including the app that  is too hard to use, and that the sign-up process is confusing and cumbersome, chronicled issues of abuse, a combination that turns off new users. Krishnan will start in October as senior director of product

Regarding Snap’s public debut, its ad revenue growth was one of the highlights of its IPO filing. Revenue hit $400 million in 2016, up almost 6X from $59 million in 2015.

Sriram Krishnan’s wife,  Aarthi Ramamurthy is the founder and CEO of Lumoid, an online retail hub for buying and renting the latest in tech gear. Aarthi Ramamurthy from Madras, has a Masters in Software Engineering. She was hired by Microsoft as one of their youngest product managers and has built products such as Xbox LIVE and Netflix’s video streaming software. Aarthi Ramamurthy got the idea for Lumoid brewed up when she worked at Netflix. A YCombinator-backed Silicon Valley startup, that provides a try-before-you-buy rental service for consumer electronics. Lumoid originally offered rentals for photography equipment, then expanded to Google Glass and drones, and more recently branched out into the wearable tech arena.

Krishnan, a big name at Facebook, leading their mobile monetization, publisher products and well-known product guy around Silicon Valley. Aarthi, the founder and CEO of Lumoid, an online retail hub for buying and renting.

Indian-born Krishnan joins Twitter as Senior Director

San Francisco, Sep 19 (IANS) Micro-blogging website Twitter has hired Indian-born Sriram Krishnan, a former top executive from Facebook and Snap, as its Senior Director of Product.

"I'm going to be joining Twitter and become a part of #theflock to work with the fantastic product team there," Krishnan tweeted.
A well-known product executive around Silicon Valley, Krishnan has primarily focused on ad technology.

"So so so so so so excited to have you Sriram! Welcome home," tweeted Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey late on Monday.
"At Facebook, he helped build the company's ad network, Audience Network; at Snap, he helped build out the company's ads API," Recode reported on Tuesday.

Starting October 2, he will be responsible for core features inside the main app, including timeline, direct messaging and search.
Krishnan will report to Keith Coleman, Twitter's Vice President of Product.

Krishnan left Facebook in February 2016 to help lead advertising efforts at Snapchat's parent company Snap. He quit Snap in February.

At Facebook, he led "Facebook Audience Network" to take on Google.
