Indian Embassy in China Warns Against Fraudulent Immigration

The Indian Embassy in China has issued an advisory cautioning Indian nationals residing in the country against fraudulent calls demanding penalties for alleged immigration violations.

The Embassy in Beijing has urged Indians to remain vigilant and avoid sharing personal information or transferring money to such fraudsters.

“It has been brought to the notice of the Embassy of India, Beijing, that calls are being made to Indian nationals informing them that they are liable to pay penalties due to immigration-related violations,” the advisory stated.

The Embassy clarified that these calls are not originating from its offices. “Indian nationals in China are, therefore, advised to exercise caution against such calls and refrain from revealing any personal information over the phone or transferring any money to the caller,” it added.

The advisory aims to protect Indian citizens in China from falling victim to such scams.
