A gas station employee ‘Dasari Gopikrishna’ in Pleasant Grove was shot during a robbery early Saturday morning. The incident occurred at a gas station on Lake June Road around 12:30 a.m. Police responded to the scene shortly after receiving the call.
According to investigators, an unidentified suspect entered the establishment, shot the employee, and fled with stolen items. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning while undergoing treatment. Gopikrishna is survived by his wife and son.
P Muralidhar Rao, a former Andhra Pradesh student leader now associated with BJP, posted a photo of Gopikrishna on social media platform X, expressing heartfelt condolences to his family. Offering condolences to Gopikrishna's family, Manjunath stated, "We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Indian national Gopikrishna Dasari in a robbery shooting incident in Pleasant Grove, Dallas, TX. We are in contact with his local relatives and are providing necessary assistance."
The consulate, in collaboration with Indian associations, is coordinating efforts to facilitate the repatriation of Gopikrishna's body to India following local procedures, including autopsy and issuance of death certificates.
