HOW TO MAINTAIN HEALTH AND
HAPPINESS AFTER RETIRMENT
1.Do not leave your Daily Routine.
You are to plan your life style prior to your retirement keeping in mind that
you are to continue your daily routine as followed by you in your job time.
You are getting up early in the morning and do all the morning activities
like exercise, taking bath, doing prayer and then dress up for going to your
work/job. Then after the completion of your job, you come to your family and
pass good time with your children and grand children before going to club
or some other type of hobby depending upon the individual. You go to your
bed after writing your daily To-do-list on the small diary for the next day.
Most of people have same type of activities and most of the daily routine
activities will become their permanent habits for their future life. You must
keep your daily routine active even on your weekends, so that it must become
your permanent life partner after retirement. It will not be easy in the beginning
of your retired life, but if you have made up this as your permanent habit
to be ready in the morning, then it will not be difficult to follow. You may
adjust rest of your daily activities according to the prevailing environments
in the family, but do not change your morning activities. Your body and your
mind will feel relaxed after you have performed all the routine activities
in the morning.
2.Keep your Hobby active.
You must be playing some game, athletics event, dancing, music or any other
event, which you like and take active part in that event. It will not only
keep your mind busy, but will give you the relaxation of daily routine activities.
Some people have so much interest in music or dancing that they forget everything
in their surroundings and absorb themselves in that event. It is just giving
the nourishment to your mind, as you are watering the plant for its growth
and healthy looks. If you do not have any such hobby during your past life,
then it will be much better to start taking interest in any one of the events
mentioned and adopt that as your permanent life partner. This will not only
pass your time in the company of others, but you will also create a good social
circle, which is very important after retirement.
3.Take active part in Social activities and try to help others.
Many start taking interest in volunteer services during their active service,
and they create very good name among other co-workers of the organization.
You must opt yourself the services to some NGO society without any benefit
and do the work sincerely and honestly to help the needy people of the area.
There are so many societies at the community level, district, and even up
to country level to help the poor and deserving people of the society. You
will feel a type of satisfaction and encouragement to do such type of work
for others in the society.
4.Small projects should be part of your life.
You must keep yourself busy by creating small projects for yourself. This
project may be for the benefit of your family or for the uplift of certain
section of people in your area. Projects for the family may be maintenance
work in the house, improvement in the home or adding small badminton court
for the family in the backyard of the house. The needs of the day is to improve
the environmental conditions in your area and try to create awareness among
the people to keep the atmosphere free from dirt, noise and disturbance.
5.Do not interfere in family affairs if you are living in joint
family.
It is always better to keep yourself busy in your daily – to- do activities
and avoid interference in the affair of your family members unless asked from
you. Most of the children these days want independent life and no interference
in their views is tolerated. If you will try to give good suggestion or idea
to your family members, they may not accept that, so you have to cut a sorry
figure, which will heart your feelings. If you are habitual to give your suggestion,
then try to watch the situation and time suitable for such idea or not. So
to keep yourself happy in joint family, it is always better to be independent
without any interference to others.
6.Always keep up with good habits.
Good habits are the permanent property of every body, which he/she has developed
during the prime time of life. Habit to be sincere and helping hand to others
always pays good dividend in future. You must believe in God and keep this
habit healthy for your life. The habit of taking notorious food, after short
intervals keep you physically fit and active. Regular exercise and sufficient
sleep for a retired person is a must to maintain good health and happiness
for the rest of life.
7.Try to share your views and experience of life with others.
Whenever you happen to meet your old friends or family members in a party
or otherwise, always try to discuss with them about their life experience.
You are to adopt the good experience of others to make your life more comfortable
and enjoyable. You must have noticed that sometimes you will get very good
solution of your problem or treatment of chronic disease. Everybody in this
world is expert of his/her area, which if shared with others will grow and
be beneficial to you. You should not hesitate or feel shy of discussing some
minor issue with others in the company, because he/she may have some clue
of the problem.
8.Keep your assets of life safe.
You must have invested in property or purchased shares or must have bank balance
in your name or in the name of your spouse. Most of the people have sufficient
property given by their parents or grand parents which stands in their name
as per their will. You are to keep every asset in your name or in the name
of your spouse, till that time when you start feeling the desire to distribute
the assets among your children. The decision taken in time always proves beneficial
to you in keeping your physical health and happiness in perfect order.
