NRI Mandeep Singh Aujla died at the spot when Mandeep
smashed his semitrailer into the back of his brother Gurdeep Singh
Aujla's semitrailer on Interstate 40 near the Route 66 Casino.
Mandeep Aujla's truck in the rear caught on fire
first, then the fire spread to Gurdeep Aujla's vehicle. Gurdeep
tried to break the truck's windows to save his brother but it
was too late.
Gurdeep Aujla, 30, suffered minor burns and scratches
during the rescue attempt. Gurdeep Singh and his passenger, Jagmohan
Singh 45, were taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital,
Bernalillo County. Gurdeep Aujla said that we brothers had slept
at Route 66 Casino and left there shortly before the crash
The police suspect that Mandeep Aujla might have
fallen asleep.
According to the police, both trucks were leased
to the Aujla brothers by No Limit Transport Inc. of Fresno, California.through
their company Aujla Transport
Madeep was married to Stephanie and Aujla's father-in-law,
Tim Alusia, said the family is searching for details
