These days, NRIs in Punjab are spending money like
crazy on marriages. This is good news for the Punjab economy.
NRI Parvinder Singh from UK rented helicopter for
‘doli’ from Dhillon Aviation company for five hours
which cost him Rs 3 lakh.
The marriage was solemnized in a resort and he took
his bride Anureet Kaur in a four seater helicopter to Biharipur
village near Tarn Taran. Parvinder and Anureet waved to relatives,
friends and village people.
Parvinder said, "He like to show all the people
that how much he care about his wife and marriage comes in one
time in a life. I like to do something different, something nice
and great gift my future wife."
Anureet said, "I had never thought that I will
go in a helicopter. That's really nice to see it."
Mr. Dhillon of Aviation company says, three more
couples have already booked the helicopter service for the coming
year. But what is it that makes the Punjabi grooms go flying to
their brides?
