Siminder Kaur and Vaneet Singh, Memphis, USA

I am the mother of a 22 month old US born son who was with me till 15 months of age. My son is in the wrongful detention of my husband and his family in Mohali (Chandigarh), India and I haven’t seen him in the past 7 months. I have been given a run around by my husband’s family to even catch a glimpse of my son. My in-laws continue to harass me and I’m being forced to combat a highly flawed legal system in India. Please read my story below and help me get justice in this country as I still have an unwavering faith in the people who make up the system and I know that justice will be served. I urge you to help me plead my case to re-unite me with my infant son!!!...Siminder Kaur, TN, USA /2015

NRI Mother Siminder Kaur Reunited With her Kidnapped Son after 10 months

Unbelievable, morally unacceptable, unethical-behavior and Unsolved Mystery of Indian Law

·        Father was arrested with abduction charges and also faces charges of international parental kidnapping and conspiracy.

·        The Indian court ruled that the child should remain with the paternal grandparents in India at this time. The mother, thereafter, filed an action for divorce in Shelby County, Memphis, TN. After a hearing, the state trial court ordered, inter alia, that the father, also an Indian citizen but permanent resident of the United States, return the child to Tennessee within seven days. Upon the trial court’s denial of the father’s request for an interlocutory appeal pursuant to Rule 9, the father sought a Rule 10 extraordinary appeal of the trial court’s ruling. We find that the appeal was improvidently granted. Accordingly, we decline to address the issue presented and dismiss the appeal…..February 02, 2017
