Resignation of Manpreet Badal upholding moral values, prestige, honour and self respect

Sukhpal Singh KhairaMLA,
Chandigarh, Oct 13
Bholath

welcome the issue based resignation of Manpreet Badal upholding moral values, prestige, honour and self respect. The resignation of Manpreet Badal has beyond doubt vindicated the political assertions of the congress party that voice of reason is being gagged, muzzled and coerced by a motley group of new brand, of so called Akali’s under the dictates of Sukhbir Badal.

As rightly stated by Manpreet Badal the once illustrious Akali Dal which stood for democratic principles is now Sukhbir Akali Dal and not Shiromani Akali Dal. There is no place for reason, dissent or inner party democracy in Akali Dal anymore, both the Badals are feudal despots, autocratic and are running politics with their ill gotten wealth.

Leaders like Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra, Late S. Gurmeet Singh, my late father S. Sukhjinder Singh, all were given a disgraceful exit by the mean and machiavellian politics pursued by the senior Badal. The resignation has also vindicated the allegations of congress of pitiable financial situation of Punjab with an accumulated Rs. 70,000 crore debt.

Sukhbir Badal has very cleverly tried to side track the real issue of poor fiscal situation and made more of an ego political clash between the family. Manpreet Badal has also accused the govt. of tapping his phone and bugging his house further vindicating the charge of congress, since last more than three and a half years. The resignation has also exposed the weak, meek and helpless bureaucracy where a Chief Secretary and Finance Secretary are made to lie in public under coercion from their political bosses.

Are the bureaucrats subservient to Sukhbir Badal or are they supposed to uphold the constitution? Therefore, the congress demands the resignation of CM and Dy. CM for willfully threatening and forcing the Chief Secretary to lie on the important debt waiver issue as exposed by Manpreet Badal with documentary evidence. In case the CM fails to take action against the Chief Secretary, the Congress urges the Governor to dismiss the Chief Secretary for misleading the people of Punjab.
