In a bid to check haphazard growth in the state, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today announced that Punjab government would soon amend the Punjab Apartment Property Regulation (PAPR) Act, 1995 to insert stringent provisions of law to deter the erring colonizers and builders indulging in the construction of unauthorized colonies on one hand and fleecing the innocent people on the other.

He also asked the colonizers and builders in the state to plan housing colonies in such a way that they should have separate tracks for jogging and cycling to keep the residents fit and fine.
