Watching homeless children and childless mothers on the early
TV coverage of the tsunami tugged at Kuljinder Sidhu's heartstrings.
Therapist Kuljinder Sidhu is donating his income for January
So much so that the 25-year-old massage therapist
decided to donate all of his income from his practice, Scottsdale
Massage Therapy in Delta, for January.
"My grandmother, she's going to be 100, and she lost
three of her children over the years and I saw how much it
still hurt her. And I can't imagine what it was like to lose
three children in one day or five children in one day,"
he said.
Sidhu, who lives in Surrey, said he was also inspired by
his Sikh faith to give.
"It does say you are supposed to share the fruits of
your labour," he said. "And it feels good to help."
He said he's been to India several times and knows how tough
it is for some people there, and how much worse it must be
after the disaster.
The lack of income will slow his plan to save for a condo
but, "I'm not suffering or anything. I don't live a lavish
lifestyle. I probably won't be eating at McDonald's as much."
