A California NRI was granted bail on Sunday morning by Judicial Magistrate Shashi Bala Chuahan. A serious question was raised by NRI's counsels to police that why he was arrested under Section 323 of IPC when FIR does not mention any voluntarily causing hurt. The FIR states that Mandheer “attempted” to hit him, rather than actually hitting him.

According to SDM Dahiya’s FIR claims: Mandheer, ran towards him with a golf club following a spat over turf space while they were playing on Saturday morning. Mandheer also threatened to kill him.

NRI Mandheer’s family members were present in the court at the time of his bail but they were very upset about police's action.

Varinder Dahiya, SDM told the court that he had to go to the hospital after Mandheer’s threat. He also hired a private lawyer to fight this case inspite of public prosecutor
