More than 2000 Punjabis, non-Punjabis and locals
had a treat of their lifetime at Rosemont Convention Center at
"PCS Night 2004" Dinner and Dance Banquet on Saturday,
November 20, 2004, at the prestigious Grand Ballroom of Stephens
(Rosemont) Convention Center, 5555 N. River Road, Rosemont Illinois,
a suburb of Chicago near O'Hare airport.
The event including an International Bhangra Dance Competition
and Jazzy 'B Concert was organized by Punjabi Cultural Society
of Chicago

Director Chicago Region Honored Rajinder Singh Mago with Community
Leadership Award
"Nachda Sansaar" Bhangra dance team from Birmingham,
United Kingdom won the first place, "Nachdi Jawani"
team from Toronto Canada were second, whereas the third place
was a tie between "Rooh Punjab Dee" Chicago and "Michigan
Bhangra" of University of Michigan in Ann Arbor Mich. At
this "3rd. PCS International Bhangra Competition." Eight
Bhangra teams from England, Toronto Canada, Michigan, Indiana,
Washington DC, and Illinois competed for the honors and $3000
first, $1500 second and $1000 third prizes. The other competing
teams were University of Chicago, Georgetown University Washington
D.C., Purdue University Indiana, and "Rhythm Boyz" from
Toronto Canada. Majority of the college teams participants were
non-Punjabis including many local Americans.Click here:
First prize was donated by Dr. Bhupinder Singh
Saini and family, second prize was donated by Balwinder Singh
of A-One Carpets.
Also the world famous Crown Prince of Bhangra
"Jazzy 'B" a mega-star vocalist and his award winning
group of musicians from U.K. performed live in concert and thrilled
the jubilant audience by his smash hit bhangra songs like Naag
sambhley julfaan de, Mitran 'ch kharhak payee, Londono Patola
ik aaya, Udham Singh London ja
ke, Ghuggiya da jorhha, etc.
Darshan Singh and Debra Dhaliwal, a philanthropist
and successful businessmen were the chief guests and Grand sponsors.
Dr. Bhupinder Singh and Baboo Saini, Raj Judge of Matrix Packaging,
Menjinder Singh Bhambra of Combined Oil Inc, and Kehar Singh Soodan
of Soodan & Associates were the guests of honor and Platinum
sponsors.

event a huge success," said Dr. Harjinder Singh Khaira, the outgoing
P.C.S. President, who was also the master of ceremonies.
F.B.I. Director's Chicago Region special agent in-charge
Mr. Richard Ruminski attended and gave The F.B.I. Director's Community
Leadership Award to the P.C.S. past president Rajinder Singh Mago for
his community services and providing diversity training to their staff.
"I am honored to be the chairman of P.C.S. Chicago,
and do my best to support all the good works that P.C.S. is doing for
our community," said Dr. Bhupinder Singh Saini the new hon. P.C.S.
chairman for 2004-05.
" I am sure our team will take P.C.S. to still
a higher level of community service in coming years," said Onkar
Singh Sangha the newly appointed president of P.C.S. Chicago.
" I have never seen such an impressive Punjabi
program, at such a prestigious venue," said Kehar Singh Soodan
C.E.O. of Soodan and Associates.
Apparently delighted Consulate General of India in Chicago
Hon. Arun Kumar and his family relished the event, he also addressed
the audience congratulating the P.C.S. organizers.
Delicious Indian culinary cuisine was catered by Viceroy
of India Restaurants. Travel arrangments were made by Travel King through
"Air India". Dance lovers packed the dance floor throughout
the show dancing to the live dhol music.
The new 2004-2005 P.C.S. board was also introduced with
Onkar Singh Sangha as president along with Dr. Bhupinder Singh Saini,
as honorary chairman, and Harvinder Paul Singh Lail, and Bhagwant Singh
Sandhu as honorary managing directors.

Bhinder S. Pamma Vice President, Jagmeet Singh Executive Secretary,
Amarpal Singh Matharu Finance Secretary, Harbir S. Virk Asstt. Finance

Community Director.
P.C.S. is an organization devoted to promoting Punjabi
culture, performing arts, and sports, in the Chicago Metropolitan area.
Other P.C.S. programs include: "Rangla Punjab 2005," scheduled
for April 9, 2005 at Gateway Theater in Chicago and "Punjabi Sports
