Ms. Neeta said Amazingly and coincidently, Amitabh Bachchan and
his family celebrates Aug 2nd as Amitabh's second birthday (after
his recovery from the serious illness) and our proclamations declared
August 2, 2008 as the Bollywood Day in Houston welcoming all these
stars from India.
The Consul General of India, Mr. Gawai and his wife presented
awards to the sponsors of the show. That exclusive evening with
the Bollywood superstars truly became an "unforgettable"
event for all!
When Amitabh Bachchan was grooving to the beats of one of his
popular songs Rang barse from Silsila, the power went off. He
was alone on the stage, immeditely Abhishek, Aishwarya Rai and
other actors Priety Zinta, Madhuri Dixit, Riteish Deshmukh, music
composer duo Vishal-Shekhar and the dancers joined him on the
stage. They just kept clapping to the beats and dancing. The audience
stood up and joined in to clapping and dancing.
The power came back pretty rapidly and they were back to normal
