Fourteen Filmfare Awards, four National Film Awards, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe, two Grammy Awards, and two Academy Awards, winner, A.R. Rahman’s “Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour” have been organized to hit to 16 main cities in all over the world. A.R. Rahman had sold more than 150 million records of his film scores and soundtracks worldwide, and sold over 200 million cassettes, making him one of the world's all-time top selling recording artists.

A R Rahman Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour’ was started from the June 11, 2010 at the Nassau Coliseum in New York and ends on July 26 at Wembley in London. In US, the cities included New York, Atlantic City, Detroit, Washington DC, Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto, , Los Angeles, Dallas and Houston. Other’s worldwide : Oslo, Glasgow, Paris, Manchester, and London.

The concerts will consist of songs from ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and the Indian films ‘Lagaan’, ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’, ‘Dil Se’, ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Roja’ and others. The top musician team up with recognized choreographer-director Amy Tinkham, who has worked on the concerts with other artistes including the Paul McCartney, Madonna, Britney Spears, Dixie Chicks, Motley Crue…much more…… The global cast of dancers, musicians with new technologies, changing sets and LED screens have been arranged.

Interestingly to know that in Detroit, Michigan, 2nd time concert was cancelled with mother nature tragedies.

  1. On Saturday June 19, 2010: “A.R. Rahman Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour” was postponed due to a sudden infrastructure collapse, a narrow escape for Rahman's crew. Detroit and Toronto had been rescheduled due to the incident. Rahman said, "It’s a miracle my team escaped with minor injuries and thanks to the almighty that everyone's safe."

  1. On 27 August 1976 in Detroit, Michigan, USA: Mukesh ( Mukesh Chand Mathur) playback singer of Bollywood died of a heart attack where he went to perform in a concert. His body was carried back to India with Lata Mangeshkar, where a grand funeral ceremony took place as many famous actors, personalities of the Indian film industry, and fans paid tribute to the late singer. When the news of his death reached Raj Kapoor, he remarked, "I have lost my voice," which is a testimony to the timeless and unforgettable association of Mukesh's voice (in playback) to the immensely popular songs of Raj Kapoor's film After Mukesh's death, his newer unreleased songs came out in 1977 with films like Dharam Veer, Amar Akbar Anthony, Khel Khilari Ka, Darinda, and Chandi Sona. The year 1978 also featured a good number of Mukesh songs , films like Aahuti, Paramatma, Tumhari Kasam, and Satyam Shivam Sundaram, where Mukesh sang his last film song "Chanchal Sheetal Nirmal Komal." From 1980 onward, Mukesh's voice was heard in many late films like Shaitan Mujarim, Premika, Patthar Se Takkar
