Shilpa Shetty will not move UK even she marry NRI Raj Kundra

Whether she gets married to Raj Kundra or not, Shilpa Shetty has just sunk her roots deeper into Mumbai, reports Soumyadipta Banerjee

She doesn’t ‘prefer’ to talk about Raj Kundra, the London-based NRI businessman whom she’s dating right now, but Shilpa Shetty makes it aptly clear that it is going to be a long-distance relationship.

“I don’t know when or whether I am getting married but this much I can tell you – I am not shifting base to London. I would prefer to be a first class citizen in my country,” Shilpa says.

According to Shilpa, she never intended to mean or say that if she gets married, she might shift base to London.

“I know that you guys are ready to marry me off. But I am not ready to shift base. Not now and not anytime in future. I am very much a part of Mumbai and Bollywood and I intend to be here for good. I am too much of an Indian. I just can’t...,” she adds.

The actor-producer has sunk her roots deep into the city by opening her production house which has started off with a small office in Andheri West. Her first film might star Bipasha Basu along with her.

“I have lots of plans and I intend to announce my first film soon.

Bipasha is not confirmed and I have not finished my casting yet. I can tell you that it is going to be an out-an-out commercial entertainer; I am working on the script right now,” the actor-turned-producer says with confidence.

So, how does it feel to be on the other side of the table? How will it feel to see actors reporting late for shoots and money getting wasted in production-related issues?
“Oh yes! I know that. The day I am on the sets, I will switch off as a producer.
Filmmaking has its own advantages and disadvantages. Actors turning up late and the production schedule going haywire is just part of the game,” she asserts.

So, is she taking a little break from acting now that she is getting into production?
“No, absolutely not! I have signed Sunny Deol’s new film and I am seeing a couple of scripts. I will be signing a couple of movies. But right now I can’t announce them because I think there’s always a slip between the cup and the lip,” she ends.
