Saira Mohan

My name is Saira Mohan (pronounced: "SI-ruh"). I'm from the most beautiful place on earth: The Canadian Rockies. For those of you who have never been, it will (and you can trust me on this) absolutely take your breath away. I'm 24 years old, 5' 10 1/2" tall. I have beautiful long fingers and no dogs or cats. I love to create art, using acrylics, a canvas, my body, and my mind. I love to read books about things that are true and have a love for life that intoxicates me. I tend to fill my spare time painting, staying current on the news, or reading a great, non-fiction book. Some shows I just love to watch: Six Feet Under, 60 Minutes, Dateline, Cheaters, Sex and the City, DisMissed, Frontline, Biography, and anything on the Discovery Channel. (TiVo makes all this possible). As for music: anything with a melody always appeals -- from Madonna, to Mozart -- and I'm a sucker for a person's reasonable point-of-view. I also have a passion for (if you can possibly believe this) stock market analytics. I've been successfully investing for many years in both up and down markets.

I'm an avid runner and want to learn how to play tennis. I can play piano -- but not very well at all. And I love to drive -- but have never owned a car. The people closest to me are all very good people and all very diverse. There are only two things that I absolutely require in a personal relationship of any kind: loyalty and integrity. If you have these two cornerstones, anything is possible with us. Beyond these, it is every individual's unique differences that make them exciting and worth knowing. It is the pursuit and discovery of such differences that make me so very open to new relationships.

I am constantly asked about my background, so I thought I would just offer up some info: My mother is French-Irish-Canadian and my father is Punjabi. Although I'm not completely clear on what that makes me, I am completely clear on the fact that I love who I am. My parents are still together and in love after decades of marriage. Not only do I visit them in Canada whenever I can, but we talk everyday. It is my relationship with them that has kept me, always, on the right side of life.

Professionally speaking, I began a long time ago: When I was 13, I got extremely lucky at an Elite Look-Of-The-Year contest held at a mall in Los Angeles. I won...and thus was born a career that has been very good to me. My job takes me to so many exotic countries that I half-think it's all a dream. Exposure to so many different cultures and so many different people has had an impact on the very nature of who I am. When I travel the world with my eyes and mind both open, my staunchest beliefs are eventually questioned and challenged. This is the very moment that I find myself contributing to a longstanding, steadfast goal of mine: the constant betterment of me.

Now-a-days, however, I am trying new things -- expanding my horizons -- and broadening my base of experience beyond merely having my picture in a magazine. In some ways it's like starting over. Every time I have taken my life and career in a new direction, I have felt this way. Thus, I've learned to take such challenges and turn it all into inspiration. Nevertheless, my life, in general, has never been more pure, honest, and full of warmth and happiness.
