Namastey London opening in
NRI theatres on 23rd March
London, March 23, 2007
Reena Sharma
This movie is family entertaining film,
with a north Indian punjabi flavor especially because Akshay Kumar's
character in the film belongs to Punjab. Akshay, Katrina Kaif, Rishi
Kapoor, Upen Patel and Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh are in the lead
role
.
Most of the media describe:
- Music already being a good success and the film genuinely carrying
good pre-release reports
- Attracting NRI audience yet another opportunity to have their
lovable 'punjab da puttar' amidst them in their own land.
- The two meeting each other in spite of the fact that Katrina
loves someone else and her marriage with Akshay was nothing but
a fluke.
- It retain the sense of being Indian at hearts and soul and clap
along when our boys out there in 'videsi' land give them 'gyaan'
about our Indian heritage, culture, rise to fame, power and education,
we would get back what we wish.
- Scene like the one where Indians and Pakistanis come together
to beat the pulp out of the 'gora' team in their own game of rugby
at their own land
- The film is about the new age global Indian attitude - 'Proud
to be Indian'. One side of the story says 'You don't have to loose
your identity and become somebody else; you can win over any situation
by staying within the framework of Indian culture.
The intrinsic message of 'Namastey London' is that
true loves means giving, rather than demanding. It is also showing
Indo-Pak friendship provided by Rishi Kapoor and Javed Sheikh. Akshay's
hottest chance of scoring yet another box office victory
