When the Sun Goes down

When the sun goes down, I see the colors of sunset melting across the sky
Lost in wonder between shadow and light, I ‘m mesmerized by nature into night
A glowing moon, crowned with sparkling stars, takes possession of my sight

In a still moment of silence, I close my eyes to a gradual infinite darkness
To fly away in dreams, I set a mark between heaven and earth
By now, the memory of earth seems so far away. It’s a sleeping state

It’s an exquisite flight. In perfect symmetry, I transform into a butterfly!
Flashes of my loving memories are white lights in the night
It’s a sacred place, where I can conquer all the limitations of the flesh

A divine melody guides the butterfly, and plays the true meaning of life
Time is irrelevant, making it impossible to count the length of this trance
It’s existence natural state, and all puzzled patterns take shape

There is greatness in being a butterfly. I am free. I am Whole!
The dust through the veil dissipates, and from far home awaits
Only the shield of ego can bring me back to the illusion of ‘life’

The moment is gone, but the greatness of being a butterfly stays within
Maybe I must forget, so this illusion I call ‘life’ isn’t meaningless
Just living is not enough. I discovered that breathing alone makes no life!

By opening my eyes to the dance of life, I’m a caterpillar now
By doing my caterpillar work on earth, I prepare for eternal life
By dreaming, when the sun goes down, I transform into a butterfly!
