Mela Teeyan Da 2012 at LA from Melay Punjabian De (MPD)

Mela Teeyan Da 2012 was celebrated in Colony High School in Ontario, California on 18th August, 2012 from 12pm to 7pm. More than four hundred ladies and girls attended Mela Teeyan Da. Sohniya Mutiyara welcomed the audience and also welcome Asha Sharma, a famous MC in North America who started the program with her lovely voice. It started with slow face but by 2pm the Mela was on full swing.

Melay Punjabian De (MPD) aims to promote unity, cultural, religious values to their children, make the mainstream aware of their rich cultural, to serve the community through seminars, discussions, forums, to address various issues faced by the different generations and the progress of all Punjabi Indian-Americans. The main purpose of organizing Mela Teeyan Da 2012, was to expose women by bringing them to the outside world from their routine household work, give them chance to meet with the community and pass time with joy.

There was another attraction ‘Satwinder Lovely’ singer who drew crowds of the Mela Teeyan Da. She just came from India last month and her first Album 'SURMA' with RDX Music released .in 2004-2007. Her Album 'GABHROO' was released with Royal rec.in 2008 and 2010. She also sung two songs for Jashan. 2010 [Gidhe Wich ik boli paa aye aa] with Master Saleem..

Mothers and daughters, bhabis , Nanads and friends were dancing and enjoying the day. At the end, the Organizing Committee thanked all the audience, participants and sponsors for their generous donations.

Mela Teeyan Da's mangement thanks Mr. Paul Sukhpal of hollycalproductions, Carona to do photography and to make the Mela DVD and also very thankfull to NRIpress.com management who is helping us year after year for press coverage worldwide.
